TEIN KNUST Urges Government To Meet Satisfiable Conditions of UTAG or Face Unanticipated Consequences

The Tertiary Educational Institutions Network (TEIN) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has urged the Akufo-Addo led government to meet the satisfiable conditions of the UTAG, which also goes a very long way to help students as well.

As one of their concerns, final year students on various campuses will have their graduation dates elongated. As was scheduled for the academic semester, final year students were supposed to graduate this very month (August), but due to this indefinite strike and the government turning a deaf ear to the cries of UTAG, it goes deeper into affecting the lives of all final year students on various campuses.

Despite the many meetings that have been held between UTAG and the government, there still has not been any agreement. No developmental plan has been made as to how the academic calendar should be going forward.

However, TEIN KNUST is giving the Nana Addo led government a one week ultimatum to settle “any kind of issue” with UTAG or face  an unanticipated consequence from them.

According to TEIN KNUST, should the Nana Addo led government not come to the aid of the students by meeting the UTAG conditions, calm shall not remain on campuses.

“Already, COVID-19 has done enough harm on our education so the government should not even try to add up by making things harder for students”, they added.
