We would deal with ‘force-kissing’ priest in accordance with our values” – Anglican Church

‘Force-kissing’ some female students of the St. Monica’s College of Education of the Asante-Mampong Diocese in the Ashanti Region is being investigated by the Anglican Church of Ghana, according to the church.

A statement signed by the Executive Director to the Metropolitan Archbishop of Ghana, Venerable Dr. George Dawson-Ahmoah, said the Church is ”saddened by the news and wishes to state expressly that, a thorough investigation has immediately been instituted into the matter and the action of the said Priest would be dealt with in accordance with the norms and values of the Anglican Communion where morality is extremely revered in the Church.”

It was also noted by the Anglican Church that all efforts are being made to engage the students through counseling sessions in order to “avoid any psychological issues that may arise as a result of the viral video.”

Venerable Dr. George Dawson Ahmoah at 0244351338 should be contacted for any further clarifications.

As a result, social media users are outraged by a viral video that shows the Rev. Father kissing a group of female teacher trainees with force.

On Sunday, August 15, 2021, Rev. Fr Baltharzar Obeng Larbi of the St. Monica’s College of Education was spotted kissing a group of girls on stage while wearing his cassock.

On more than one occasion, he was seen gesturing to one of the girls and asking her to remove her face mask before kissing her on the lips.

However, some people have come to the Reverend father’s defense and described his action as a “holy kiss.”
