The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) launched the second edition of the Junior Science and Maths Quiz (JSMQ) on 7th October 2021.
Following the launch, the quiz commenced on Monday, 11th October, 2021, and ended on Friday, 29th October, 2021.
The 2nd edition of the JSMQ competition which was launched at the College of Science auditorium in KNUST had various schools in the Ashanti region balloting to compete against each other. 33 competing schools battled it out to know who will be crowned champion.
The Junior Science and Maths Quiz (JSMQ) which was organized in partnership with the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) and ERIDEC Ghana Limited came to a successful end on Friday October 29,2021, after a 3-week competition.
30 competing schools started from the preliminary stage to progress to the quarter final. Last edition’s three finalists joined the contest in the quarter finals.
The final contest was between last years champions KNUST Junior High School, Matta Devi Basic School and SOS Hermann Gmeiner
The Grand finale came with a lot of excitement after the three schools battled it out in four rounds.
At the end of the contest Matta Devi emerged as the WINNER for the 2nd edition of JSMQ with 48 points. KNUST JHS came 2nd with 29.5 points, and SOS Hermann Gmeiner came 3rd with 19.
