Botswana to host 2020 PAUDC

The 2020 Pan African Universities Debating Championship is going back to where it all began

 2020 PAUDC —The 2020 edition of the Pan African Universities Debating Championship (PAUDC) will be hosted by the University of Botswana Debate Masters Association.

The University of Botswana,  6 years after they last hosted the tournament will play host to over 100 universities from several other African countries.

The 13th edition of the PAUDC which is christened as ‘Homecoming’ is under the theme; “Channelling the roots of African Debate.”

The Local Organizing Committee (LOC) together with a team of dedicated student volunteers from the University of Botswana working to facilitate a successful tournament have since outlined a number of persons with key responsibilities in the tournament.

  1. Tournament Co-Conveners

2. Tournament Director

3. Hospitality Directors

4. Director of Finance

5. IT & Registrations with Director of Media and Publicity

6. Co-Special Trainers

The tournament will follow the World Universities Debating Championship style, which is the British Parliamentary style of debating (popularly known as “BP”) such as in many debating styles, where debaters are engaged in intellectual discourse to determine their knowledge on topical issues in Africa and beyond.
