KNUST is set to adopt the Shift system for its staff where applicable.
The KNUST University Community released a general notice on 1st February, 2021, as a furtherance to the President’s 23rd National Address on Ghana’s fight against COVID-19.
In the notice, the President urged all workplaces, both public and private to adopt a shift system, in addition to the use of virtual platforms for business or work.
In view of that, KNUST has moved its sanctioned meetings to virtual platforms and has asked Colleges, Departments, and Units on Campus to make internal arrangements to operationalize a shift system for workers where applicable.

Aside from his suggestion on the shift system in workplaces, he noted that conferences and workshops can take place with all the appropriate protocols.
The University Community has therefore laid down some measures in accordance with what the President laid out in his 23rd Address to the country;
- All University sanctioned meetings should be held virtually
- The duration of meetings should not exceed 2hours
- Colleges, Departments, Units, are to employ the shift system where applicable
