Ghanaian Wonder kid Felix Afena Gyan Powers AS Roma to Victory with 2 Goals

Ghanaian youngster Felix Afena Gyan scored his first professional goal on Sunday evening to power AS Roma to victory.

The 18-year old scored twice, which included a thunderous strike from about 30 yards out.

Afena Gyan came off the bench on the 75th minute and his touch appeared to be the only missing spot in the AS Roma set up.

He first scored with a well drilled shot after receiving a pass from Henrikh Mkhitaryan on the 82nd minute.

Then in added time, after an attempt from El Shaarawy was thwarted, the ball fell to Afena Gyan, who released a curled effort which sliced seamlessly into the back of the Genoa net.

Afena’s two goals takes Roma to 5th place on the Serie A and ends a run of two loses for the club.

After the game, the teenage sensation revealed he had the edge to score, and knew he would score in the game, even with just minute.

“I was having the feeling that if I get one minute, I’ll score for my club, and God being so good, I made it tonight.”

Felix Afena Gyan was with the Roma U19 team (Primavera) and was promoted to train with the first team after strings of difficulty in churning out results.

Manager of AS Roma Jose Mourinho also confirmed Felix Afena Gyan will be joining the Roma first team permanently.

“I am sorry for Mr De Rossi and the Primavera squad but Afena stays with us. The Primavera work close to us, so Felix and another four or five players have come across to the senior squad”.

Afena Gyan had made two previous appearances off the bench, where he had failed to score, but impacted the game significantly against Cagliari and AC Milan
