Sulemana Mohammed originates from a family of football cultism. He was inspired by an uncle, who played football in Italy. Due to the history of football in his family, plying the family tradition was eased and heavily supported by the core of his family.

The genesis of Sule’s football career was Ghana’s Inter-school Sports system. Sulley was a core member of Sarkodie D/A JHS’s school team. He captained his school to win all trophies there was to win in elementary and Junior High School levels.

 His enviable performances in the inter-school competitions drew the attention of a host of colts football  clubs.  In his colts days , Manchester, King Solomon and Apakye Noah were the top teams. Sule played for all those teams, won everything, establishing himself as a wonderkid  in his early years.

He knew there and then the focus of his life was to establish his football career, then education secondary. He only decided to attend Secondary School, Koforidua Technical Institute (KOTECH). through the intervention of another Zongo neighbor. 

The High School system had already churned some great stars for the nation.  Clifford Aboagye ,Richard Arthur and legendary George Owu were all products of the same High school system.

As a fresher in KOTECH, Sule had already made the school team. The young prodigy was already exuberating his potential and made the 18 man squad to represent Eastern region at the regionals tournament. 

Sulley has been a born winner from his early days in football. He had already won every tournament he participated in across the school sports system and  Kotech was no exception. By second year, Sule was already the best player in his school. In his third and final year, Sule  captained his school team to consecutive semi  finals and became the youngest ever captain ever in the history of KOTECH.

Within this same period, he captained the best selected side to represent the Region in zonal competitions. Where a football competition was, Sule was. When Joy Bitters introduced a community Gala, Sule was sure in the mix for his community. This competition featured Pro players like  Latif Blessing, Richard Mpong amongst others. Sule played an integral role in leading his community to win that gala. This feat eventually won his grandmother over to also support his footballing dreams.

            AFTER SHS WHAT NEXT?

Like anyone who aimed at playing football professionally, Sule dreamed of the next level in his football career. The dream was however far from reality, as Sule was unable to find a club after his secondary education. The lonely quiet nights with it’s doubts came, but they passed just as they came, with Sule keeping a flame alive.

The quests to support the dreams involved Sule making attempts to join Right to Dream Academy, or West African Football Academy(WAFA) but proved futile. This morphed to him having a short stint with Reform FC in Koforidua and Bazuka fc in Somanya. Eventually landed at STILL BELIEVE football club, the junior side of Ghana top flight side Dreams FC.

This was the perfect synchronization, because just like the name of the club, Sule believed in his dreams. 

The next days were nights of hard investments in improving his general play.

His hard work paid off and just after three months, he got promoted to the senior side Dreams Fc.

This still remains one of the fastest promotions at the club. 

 At this juncture his immediate family members realized, Sulley was nearing his Dreams of playing at the highest level. 

Anyone watching Sule for the first time can easily point out his best attributes on the pitch. Athleticism with dribbles and vision iced with powerful left foot and that’s what the legendary Sulley Muntari was made of.

As the popular saying goes “Oliver Twist always asks for more” but to ask for more you have to do more. Sulley rests not, it is every youth footballer with great potential’s dream to represent the nation at the youth level and at the senior level and Sulley was not an exception.

He worked hard and got into the national U-20 side to represent the nation. Per his track record once again he was one of the poster boys of the team going into the WAFU-Zone B Tournament. Then again Sulley always wins the ultimate; they won the zone and competed in the U-20 AFCON in which they won the ultimate once more.

After the tournament it was clear he was one of the sought after players in the team by foreign teams however it was too early since his development was still essential.
