Two KNUST Students Rewarded Laptops for Academic Performance

The Domod Roofing Limited (DRL) in Accra has presented laptops to two brilliant second year students in KNUST.

This is in fulfilment of a partnership between KNUST’s Department of Construction Technology and Management and Domod Roofing Limited.

The awardees, who obtained Cumulative Weighted Averages (CWA) of 76.86 and 72.09 respectively, received a brand-new HP laptop computer each as a prize for their outstanding performance in the 2019/2020 Academic Year.

The awardees are in the persons of Miss Annabel Markpokpo Ami-Dompey, studying BSc. Construction Technology and Management and Mr. Evans Boateng, pursuing BSc. Quantity Surveying and Construction Economics.

Mr. Fred Kwofie, the General Manager of Domod Roofing Limited said he believes that the laptops given to these students would come in handy as it will aid in their online studies, and also hopes that the awardees would become ambassadors of the company.

Giving a background on the partnership, the Head of the Department of CTM, Professor Bernard Baiden said that the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed in 2020 was to provide a platform that would benefit the Department of CTM with internship opportunities, National Service for graduates, training, and career development programmes for students.

Professor John Tia Bugri, Provost of the College of Art and Built Environment (CABE) thanked the donor for the laptops given to the students and urged the students to keep the computers in good shape and utilize them for its intended purpose.
