The IGP guarantees #FixTheCountry demonstrators that they will be protected to the fullest extent possible on August 4
Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), has promised to ensure maximum security for the #FixTheCountry protest on August 4th.
The demonstrators would be completely escorted by police, according to the Acting IGP, who entered office on August 1.
Following a tête-à-tête meeting between the organizers of the #FixTheCountry protest and the IGP, the Economic Fighters League published a statement.
Dr Dampare is set to ensure a calm and impactful demonstration, according to Fighter-General Hardi Yakubu, who made the declaration.
Meanwhile, the conveners pledged to ensure that all protestors adhere to all the Covid-19 safety protocols.
Mr Yakubu said they have recruited and trained marshals who will be assigned to liaise with the police on anything and to guide the crowd.
