Sheikh Al Maktoum returns $2.4 million to Ghana after botched Sputnik V sale

According to records seen by journalists, Sheikh Ahmed Dalmook Al Maktoum, the Dubai-based businessman approached by the Ministry of Health for the acquisition of 300,000 doses of the Sputnik V vaccine, has repaid $2,470,000 to Ghana.

Sheikh Al Maktoum stated in a letter that no cash had been tapped under the Letter of Credit. He also stated that the Letter of Credit will expire in June 2021.

Once the monies have been placed into the government bank account, Sheikh Al Maktoum will receive a payment receipt.

Ghana had already received 20,000 of the 300,000 vaccination doses that were expected.

Sheikh Al Maktoum was paid $2,850,000 out of a total of $5,700,000 for his efforts.
