The Women’s Commissioner of the Student Representative Council (SRC) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Ms. Rabiatu Siaka will later today, February 12, 2021, distribute about 3,000 face shields to residents of all six traditional halls within the university.
The Women’s Commissioner will also donate about 250 face shields and other Personal Protective Equipment to all covid-19 ambassadors within the university.
The initiative according to Ms. Rabiatu is to augment the efforts by the university management in the fight and protect students against the novel coronavirus.
Speaking in an interview with Focus FM’s Sandra Ofori-Atta, she noted that the office of the KNUST SRC women’s Commission, will by the donation help in the already existing effort to fight the covid-19.
“The office of the Women’s Commission is giving out 3,000 face shields to all first-year students in all the traditional halls on campus. We are basically responding to calls across the board to help with the fight against coronavirus and I believe that this donation will contribute to the effort by the management to the fight against covid-19,” she said.
