KNUST SRC EC Lifts Suspension of Arts Society’s EC

The Kwame Nkrumah University Science and Technology (KNUST) Students Representative Council’s (SRC) Electoral Commission relieved the Electoral Commissioners of SCISA and CABESA of their duties on Tuesday, 1st June, 2021. This was due to a pending investigation that was being carried out on some allegations of misconduct that was levelled against them.

Following the relieve of their duties, the KNUST SRC Electoral Commission released a communique on Friday, June 4, 2021 rescinding their decision to suspend the Electoral Commissioner of the Faculty of Arts (Art Society), Master Brogya Gyamfi.

This decision by the SRC EC comes after a meeting that was held on Thursday, June 3, 2021. Present at the meeting were all relevant stakeholders who aided in the conclusion of such decision.

However, Master Brogya Gyamfi has been directed by the KNUST EC to resume office and supervise a free and fair election.

As part of his roles, he has been tasked to open nominations for some two other presidential aspirants who had been denied access to the nomination forms.

Nonetheless, the suspension of Master Asaana Morris, the Electoral Commissioner of the Ghana Students Chemical Society still holds.
