The Minister for Trade and Industry, Honourable Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen has donated 1500 bags of cement in support of the KNUST Christian Worship Centre.
Honourable Alan Kyeremanten explained that apart from his sentimental attachment to the University, his primary motive of supporting such a good course is to assist in ensuring KNUST’s mandate of training young people who will provide transformational leadership to the country.
“The core mandate of every tertiary institution is to teach and undertake academic research, but beyond academic excellence, it’s aspiration is to train ethical and morally upright leaders’’. He lauded the University’s initiative to build the Worship Centre.
The KNUST Christian Worship Centre upon completion would have 4 auditoriums, an Amphitheatre, vestry, library, offices, 2 chapels (500-seater each) and a multipurpose hall. It will contain counselling rooms, a secretariat, and accommodation facilities.
As the son of Dr. Alexander Atta Yaw Kyeremanten, a former Chairman of the University Council, he assured the University of his continuous support together with his three siblings who are alumni of KNUST.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Rita Akosua Dickson, on behalf of the Chaplaincy thanked the Honourable Minister for supporting the need to nurture morally upright graduates and allow students exercise their right to worship.
She appealed to him to use his influence to solicit for more support to aid the completion of the building.
