Focus FM Journalist Appointed Video Analyst at King Faisal
Focus FM sports journalist, Manfred Asante Kwakye (Fiifi Manfred) has been appointed as the video analyst of Ghana Premier League side, King Faisal.
His responsibility at the club is to use videos to analyse tactics before and after games. He will assist King Faisal’s coach, Nurudeen and his assistants with video analysis of their opponents before games and assess the performance of their players after games.
He will also deal directly with his players on video sessions a day or two to their games to work on their tactical set up as a well as that of their opponent’s.
On his appointment, Manfred said, “For me football is just 30% tactic. The real work is done on the pitch. Dedication, aggression and who wants it more wins the day”.
He added that, although he has not had a stint with any football club before, his video analysis Focus FM (where he works as a sports journalist) and LUV FM in Kumasi has had a colossal contribution to his appointment.
Having failed to take his footballing career to the professional level, Manfred shifted his attention from playing to coaching and using videos to analyse football matches. He holds a CAF License D certificate from the Ghana Football Association.
Manfred is a first-degree holder in BSc. Biochemistry from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
Fiifi adds to the recent appointments by clubs in the top flight of Ghana football from Focus FM, having had Bechem United football club also appoint their Public Relations Officer (P.R.O) from the KNUST based radio station a couple of months ago.
King Faisal finished 14th in the 2020/2021 Ghana premier league with 41 points.
