CAF Supports FIFA to Play the World Cup Every Two Years

The Confederation of African Football, CAF has declared its support to FIFA in hosting the World Cup every two years.

Presidents of 54 confederations of African football unanimously voted in support of the idea.

This was after a presentation by FIFA’s Chief of Global Football Development Arsene Wenger and also FIFA President Gianni Infantino on the need of playing the World Cup every two years.

“We need to offer more chances for world football, for African football to shine at the world stage.” Infantino argued.

However the FIFA President confirmed that he would continue to consult opinion on his proposal on it’s feasibility.

Cameroon FA President Seidou Mbombo Njoya who spoke on behalf of CAF accepted the ideas and offered their full support for FIFA.

“There is a question of calender which is very important to revolutionize football”.

“CAF welcomes the FIFA committee to conduct the visibility status on having Men’s and Women’s World Cup every two years. If the FIFA status concludes that it is feasible, CAF fully supports playing the Men’s and Women’s World Cup every two years”., Mbombo Njoya said.

CAF President Patrice Motsepe then organized a short voting between the 54 Association president to which they all agreed to support the proposal.
