Hundreds of schoolgirls in Nigeria are feared to have been kidnapped in Jebede, in the Zamfara state.
According to a teacher who witnessed the incident, over 300 girls were taken.
In reports, gunmen in their numbers raided the government girls’ secondary school and injured the local security force.
They went ahead and stormed into the dormitories of the students, ransacked the whole place, and kidnapped a number of them.
Parents of these girls have sought help from the government as they are bewildered by this unfortunate incident.
According to data gathered by BBC, out of 421 students that were present in the school, only 55 have so far been accounted for.
Reports from the boarding secondary school have it that this rather unfortunate incident took place in the early hours of Today, Friday, 26th February 2021.
However, Police in Zamfara state has yet to comment.
