Arrival of Rangnick is Bad News for Other Coaches in EPL – Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted the arrival of new Manchester United coach Ralf Rangnick is bad news for other managers in the English Premier League.

In his pre-match press conference against Southampton, Klopp admitted the presence of the German manager will spell doom for other coaches in the league.

“Unfortunately a good coach is coming to England – obviously that’s not good news for other teams”, Klopp said.

“Rangnick is a really experienced manager who’s famously carved two clubs from no where to become proper threats and forces in Germany with Hoffenheim and Leipzig. He’s really organized, a really good man and an outstanding coach”, Klopp added.

Rangnick is set to be announced as the next manager of Manchester United on interim basis till the end of the season.

He replaces Ole Gunner Solskjaer who was relieved off his job after suffering a 4-1 defeat against Watford.

Rangnick played in the Champions League semi-final with Schalke in 2009, and also won the DFB Pokal with the same team in 2011.

In 2019 too, he finished runners up of the DFB Pokal Cup with RB Leipzig in Germany.

Rangnick is credited with developing Gegenpressing, whereby the team, after losing possession, immediately attempts to win back possession.

He’s also noted with the development of Thomas Tuchel as a coach.

Rangnick’s last job was as the manager of sports and development for Russian Premier League club FC Lokomotiv Moscow in 2021.
