President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo, in his last State of the Nation Address on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, stated that the Planting for food and jobs programme, as part of his government initiatives brought an abundance of food to the country.
“Thanks to the Planting for Food and Jobs programme, food is in abundance in our country”.
Planting for Food and Jobs was a flagship agricultural campaign of the Government, with five implementation modules;
- Food Crops (PFJ)
- Planting for Exports and Rural Development (PERD)
- Greenhouse Technology Villages
- Rearing for food and jobs
- Agricultural Mechanization Services
The first module aims to provide Food Security and Immediate availability of selected food crops on the market. This module has brought about the provision of food in abundance, which has led to the second module’s initiative. Ghana has been named among lead exporters of food.
