The President announces reopening dates of schools at all levels

As part of government’s strategic efforts to ease the COVID-19 induced restrictions on educational activities, the president of Ghana, President Akufo-Addo on Sunday, announced the resumption dates of schools at all levels in the country.

This was announced on January 3, 2021, Sunday, in his 21st Coronavirus update to the country.

However, the double-track system will still be applicable to SHS 2 students in schools that are employing it.

Students from kindergarten to JHS will resume school activities starting 15th January 2021. This applies to both public and private schools.

Students in tertiary institutions to be in school from Saturday, January 9, 2021.

Their seniors in SHS 2 and SHS 3 will, however, return to school from 18th January. Students in universities and other tertiary institutions are to be in school from Saturday, 9th January.”President Akufo-Addo announced.
