
The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has qualified for the grand finale of the 2020 edition of the Pan African Universities Debating Championship (PAUDC) which is currently underway.
The KNUST Debate Society is confident of winning the tournament for the 3rd consecutive following their unflinching performances from the preliminary stage to the Semifinal.
2 out of the 10 teams from KNUST are competing with 2 other teams from the University of Witwatersrand from South Africa in the grande finale of the 13th edition of the prestigious PAUDC.
KNUST is the only Ghanaian university left in this year’s PAUDC grande finale. They won it in 2018 and 2019.
The Pan-African Universities Debate Championship is the biggest annual inter-collegiate debate competition in Africa. This year’s PAUDC which was held virtually due to travel restrictions amongst other challenges caused by the covid 19 pandemic had over 40 colleges from all around the African continent representing in their numbers.

This House Believes That judicial systems should more harshly punish people found guilty of committing crimes against members of social groups who experience disproportionately high rates of violence regardless of that offender’s intent (i.e. women, ethnic minorities)
