KNUST extends sale of 2020/2021 admission forms for SHS and postgraduate students

Management of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has extended the sale of admission forms from Friday, 20th November, 2020 to Monday, 30th November, 2020.

This is to allow the first batch of Free SHS Graduatesand other qualified students who could not  apply earlier to do so, according to a letter released by the management.

The letter signed by the University Relations Officer, Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, indicated that applicants who have already applied, but wish to change their programmes can also do so within the same period.

The letter noted that undergraduate e-vouchers can be obtained from all regional post offices while postgraduate e-vouchers can be obtained at the following Banks; Ecobank, GCB Bank and CBG.

Arrangement for re-opening and resumption of academic work for the 2020/2021 academic year

The KNUST academic board at its 389th special meeting held on Wednesday, 11th November, 2020 discussed and approved the following proposed arrangement for reopening and resumption of academic work;

  1. The 2020/2021 academic year will resume fully in January 2021 with first years reporting on 9th January, 2021 and continuing students on 16th January 2021.
  2. The university will adopt a blended teaching approach of face-to-face and on-line lectures.
  3. Lectures will be streamed live for the benefit of students joining online in other classrooms and computer labs.
  4. Lectures will be recorded for later reference.
  5. Colleges and Halls of residence will be required to observe and put in place appropriate COVID-19 protocols when school.
  6. The university will make laptops available to the university Library for students to access for on-line studies.

KNUST to enroll 30,000 students for 2020/2021 academic year

KNUST has reiterated its resolve to increase enrolment for first year students from the current 23,000 to 30,000 for the 2020-2021 academic year which begins in January 2021.

The University Relations Officer of the University, Dr. Norris Bekoe has said that the decision is to enable most Senior High School graduates to gain admission at the Tertiary Level.

KNUST has since expanded its infrastructure and will be in a position to admit a lot more students in addition to the over 65,000 students it currently has.
