A Transformational coach, Mr. Scofray Nana Yaw Yeboah, has expressed that a two- week lockdown for residents in some parts of Ghana may not be enough to curb the coronavirus pandemic.
President Aufo-Addo as part of measures to curb the spread of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic imposed a partial lockdown at some areas in the Greater Accra Region and the Ashanti Regional capital, Kumasi on March 30, 2020.
But Mr. Yeboah in an interview with FOCUS FM’s Nana Kwadwo Jantuah on Friday 3rd April 2020 said a majority of the Ghanaian populace are still not cognizant of the severity of the COVID-19 pandemic.
According to him, though some Ghanaians have done well to observe the precautionary measures laid down by experts to be observed, the majority are still oblivious to the situation.
Making a comparison to some other countries that have been able to battle the COVID-19 under control, he emphasized that those countries could not have achieved results with only a two-week lockdown. Mr. Yeboah mentioned that the COVID-19 is a novel pandemic hence health professionals around the globe including Ghanaian health workers are still undergoing proper training on how to combat it.
He noted that an extension of the lockdown will afford Ghana’s health professionals the wherewithal to give full attention to infected persons whilst controlling the spread of the disease.
