Tributes are pouring in for astute lecturer at the Department of Economics of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Dr. Emmanuel Buabeng who was reported dead on Saturday December 18, 2021.
His sad demise has been received with shock among the KNUST community, especially alumni from the department across the world.
Some alumni from the department mourning the death of Dr. Buabeng, took to social media (facebook) to express their condolences and reminisce about the kind of personality he was to them as a lecturer.

Dr. Emmanuel Buabeng, is a Senior lecturer at the Department of Economics at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
Dr. Buabeng taught Elements of Economics, Microeconomics, and Macroeconomics among other disciplines of economics.
After His Senior School education at the Bekwai S.D.A. Secondary School, He received B.A degree, Masterβs and PHD degrees in economics from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
His research interest includes microeconomics, macroeconomics economic analysis and financial economics. Dr. Boabeng has published 13 papers. Some of his recent publications are;Β Empirical analysis of the causal relationship between gas resource rent and economic growth: Evidence from Ghana, Religious orientation and poverty in Ghana: associations and explanations, Asymmetrical effect of oil and gas resource rent on economic growth: Empirical evidence from Ghana, and Understanding the impact of Commercial Banks Lending Rate on Economic Growth: An Empirical Evidence from Ghana which were all published in 2021.
