Asante Kotoko sack coach Maxwell Konadu

Kumasi Asante Kotoko has parted ways with head coach Maxwell Konadu after 12 months in charge following their defeat to Accra great Olympics.

The club announced the decision via a statement on the club’s official twitter handle. The statement also confirmed the club’s assistant coach, Johnson Smith would take charge of the team on an interim basis.

” Management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club wishes to inform the general public that it has decided to part ways with Coach Maxwell Konadu as its Head Coach with immediate effect. Coach Johnson Smith has been appointed to lead the team in the interim”.

Coach Maxwell Konadu was appointed for a second stint with the club in December 2019.

The Porcupine Warriors have failed to impress  this season, managing  just one win in 4 games in the 2020/21 Ghana premier league.

Interim coach Johnson Smith will lead Kotoko into Sunday’s Premier League away game with Dreams FC.
