A presidential aspirant of the Student Representative Council of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Samuel Sesah has called on the university management to investigate matters relating to indiscriminate pasting of his political materials on campus.
Sesah in a twitter post indicated that he had lodged an official complaint to authorities over the posting teasers by some unknown people in our name to deface the school.
Speaking in an interview with John Essien on the Election360 show, Samuel Sesah expressed disappointment in the act, calling on management to look into the matter in order to bring the perpetrators to book.
“What I want the office of the Dean of Students to do is to set the records straight. There are CCTV cameras at the bus stop where the teasers were placed so he should order for a thorough check from the campus security control room to ascertain the perpetrators of the acts as it is against the university rules,” he indicated
“I have peacefully lodged my complaints to the Dean of Students and I have met the Electoral Commissioner who has also given the assurance that he is going to see to the issue to make sure that the perpetrators of the acts are brought to book,” he said.
Aspirants with posters on campus to be disqualified – EC Warns
The KNUST SRC EC in February 2020 cautioned that Aspirants for various leadership portfolios for the 2020 SRC elections could face disqualification for defying school authorities’ orders not to litter the campus with campaign posters.
Philip Ofori-Atta in a statement stated that “It has come to the notice of the commission that some personalities have begun circulating materials around campus purportedly in a bid to forward their political ambitions”.
The EC noted that he was by the statement issuing a strong word of caution to these individuals to desist immediately from this objectionable act.
